We participated in the building of the very first, certified passive house in New York by the Passive House Institute, US:
“The Hudson Passive Project is an energy conservation project, a prototype home-of-tomorrow that demonstrates the energy-saving potential of residential architecture. The house was designed by BarlisWedlick Architects LLC, built by Bill Stratton Building Company, and realized with the support of NYSERDA, the New York State Energy Research Development Authority through the High Performance Energy Challenge. Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, about two hours north of New York City, The Hudson Passive Project is the first certified passive house in New York State and among the highest performing homes in the world.”
The Real American Dream Home Company has industry expertise in creating the most energy efficient and green home designs. Take a look at completed photos of this home and others on our Houzz page:
Also, stay tuned for news about our work with an exciting new project in Stonington, Connecticut called realsmarthouse.com Here is a link to some information about our involvement:
“realsmarthouse® is the first trademarked residential building methodology in the U.S. developed expressly for Passive House Certification, the world’s fastest growing energy performance standard, as well as the US EnergyStar standards.
Realsmarthouses are sustainable, net energy neutral, low maintenance, extremely efficient, beautifully crafted, healthy living, high value environments.”
Another name that you will recognize with the Real American Dream Home Group, is Vermont Timber Frames. Recently, Woodchuck Cider House, Middlebury, VT www.woodchuck.com posted a video of our material package being raised at their most recent cider house addition.
This is a great example of one of our Real American Dream Home commercial designs, and an example of a building that can be made effortlessly to the highest standards of green design, just like our homes. Great video!
With the launch of our new website, we have started regularly updating our Houzz and Pinterest pages with photos of our homes and designs that will help inspire you as you plan the layout and feel of your new timber frame or log home. I find our design sessions and selections to be one of the most fun parts of our experience with our customers (well,.. visiting our customer homes once they are settled in, unpacked and decorated is fun, too!)
I welcome you to take a look through our web pages, and please do not hesitate to call or email to ask questions about the designs featured on our pin boards and in our Houzz photos.
